What We Do, and How We Do It
We aim to organise meaningful activities that bring people together, strengthen community connections, and create lasting opportunities for learning and participation. Our programmes will be developed in response to the needs and interests of our community, with a particular focus on young people, families, cultural preservation, and social inclusion.
Cultural Heritage and Community Celebrations
Cultural events will celebrate the richness of Senegalese and African heritage, creating opportunities for people to share traditions and pass them on to younger generations. Activities may include cultural festivals, storytelling, traditional food, music, language, and heritage showcases.
Youth Education, Mentoring and Leadership
We aim to support young people through educational workshops, mentoring, skills development, leadership activities, and opportunities to explore identity and heritage. Our goal is to help young people build confidence, positive relationships, and a sense of belonging.
Community Gatherings and Social Inclusion
We will create welcoming spaces where people can meet, build friendships, share experiences, and connect across generations and cultures. Gatherings may include community meals, dialogue sessions, family activities, and social events.
Learning About the Life and Teachings of El Hadji Malick Sy
Through talks, discussions, study sessions, and intergenerational storytelling, we aim to share knowledge about El Hadji Malick Sy’s life, teachings, and legacy, with a focus on learning, character, respect, solidarity, and service.
Intergenerational and Family Activities
We will encourage elders, parents, and young people to share knowledge, stories, language, customs, and lived experiences, helping to strengthen family and community bonds.

We aim to work with local organisations, schools, charities, cultural groups, faith communities, and public institutions to expand opportunities, encourage collaboration, and contribute to a more connected Manchester.
